There has been a lot of talk about sunscreens and their safety lately. I’m in that awkward stage where I’m almost done using my not-so-safe sunscreen and should start looking around for something better. I’ve heard great things about Marie Veronique (and actually follow them on Twitter!).

It is so hard these days to find a sunscreen that is safe and non-toxic, and doesn’t make you feel like a greased up mess! A sunscreen that kids won’t complain about wearing is just icing on the cake!

I really enjoyed reading about this. We’ve discovered this summer, with Indiana’s super hot and then super stormy conditions, that bugs are biting more than ever and my childrens skin has become overly sensitive to what we usually use which has in the past proven to be very safe for their skin. This sounds like a safe alternative.

Thank you for carrying kid safe products. despite the claims, it is unusual to find a “kid safe” sunscreen that is actually safe. if i wouldn’t eat it, i dont like to use it on my kids skin.

With having to use sunscreen daily in our area, I hate putting those chemicals on my child the best I have found is a brand that is chemical free but does not rub in well I would love to try Marie Veronique Organic’s Kid Safe Sunscreen.

I’ve been reading the EWG website religiously lately trying to find a good sunscreen for my 15 month old. This sounds GREAT! I would love to try this, she has extremely fair, beautiful skin that needs great protection.

I’m fed up with my two under two having skin reactions to a variety of products (most claim hypoallergenic, etc). My daughters don’t even have sensitive skin. I’m thankful for EWG educating while exposing. As a result of my sun drenched days in Florida during the 80s my Dermatalogist now either zaps or cuts something from my body at each visit. So I GET IT!! We are on a tight budget but with a few Tweeks I rather purchase safer and beneficial products. I’ve heard great things about Marie Veronique.

We just heard back from the good people at Marie Veronique Organics with a response to your question about usage amount and though every child obviously varies, here’s what they have to say:
“You should be able to get at least 6 uses for full body, 12-18 for face and arms.”

I always thought I was doing a good thing by wearing sunscreen every day – I never realised that all the chemicals might be doing my skin more damage than the actual sun! It’s a shame that we can’t rely on all product manufacturers to research the long term benefits/disadvantages of their products. I will definitely be going natural and safe from now on – for my whole family. Thanks MVO!
