This week’s obsession: the style of The Thin Man series
The other day I was chatting with my friend, Diane, about the work-in-progress Green with Glamour product line. As I was describing the designs of our small collection of clothing pieces – she brought her obsession with The Thin Man series. She said the long, lounging gowns I’m working on reminded her of the wardrobe of the movie. And now her obsession is mine! The clothing, the hair, the make up… the chemistry between William Powell and Myrna Loy – all so D-I-V-I-N-E. Plus witty dialogue.
Nora (Loy): “Are you packing, Dear?” (referring to their train car in After The Thin Man).
Nick: (Powell, drinking a martini): “Yes, Darling… I’m just putting away this liquor.”
I’m really starting to ramp up for Fall… it’s a step up in formality, it’s layering, it’s an excuse to get more elegant – which to me always means throwback chic. And The Thin Man really makes my Fall 09 heart race!
The gauze-y fabrics, the metallics, the feminine, yet fuss-free details…
And other than the super-thin eyebrows, this will be the make up look I’ll be trying to replicate all coming season!

THIS is what I’ve been wanting to see!!! I own all these movies and this syle is one of my all-time favorites. The hair/ the make-up–no to the eyebrows of course–the fabrics, the glamour, the return to really dressing oneself…. It’s all so good and so refreshing!! The only thing you forgot to mention is HATS
